Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rocky Balboa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franklyn Vass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vass is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Highway to Hell (AC/DC). Rocky Balboa had a look across the ring there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rocky Balboa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Franklyn Vass! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Excellent takedown into side control there by Vass. Balboa is trying to control Vass's posture but Vass avoids it. Balboa tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Vass wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Balboa is working hard here to advance position. Balboa manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Balboa is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Balboa manages to get to full guard.
Balboa wants to stand and escape but Vass is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Balboa has his feet on Vass's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Balboa shoots in for a takedown but Vass shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Vass will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Vass slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Vass looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Balboa wants to stand and escape but Vass is having none of it. Vass controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Vass stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Balboa swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vass is pushing down on Balboa's leg trying to pass to half guard. Balboa is fighting to maintain full guard but Vass has managed to sneak the leg through. Balboa looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Vass is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Vass stops Balboa from getting back to his feet.
Vass stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Balboa shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Vass stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Vass wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rocky Balboa. That's going to take a lot out of him. Balboa is breathing heavily. Vass closes the distance and pushes Balboa back into the ropes. Balboa is trying to break free. Vass has Balboa pressed against the ropes, preventing Balboa from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Balboa tries to circle away but Vass has him pinned against the ropes. Vass lands with a left to the head. Balboa wants to get back to striking at distance but Vass won't allow it.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Balboa is trying to break free. Vass has Balboa pressed against the ropes, preventing Balboa from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Vass swings wildly with an uppercut but Balboa uses good head movement to avoid it. Vass fails to pull guard.
Vass breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Vass shoots in and drives through. Balboa sprawls well. Balboa tries to close the distance and clinch but Vass swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Balboa shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Vass tries to score a power double leg takedown but Balboa sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Vass somewhat. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Balboa throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Vass's waist but Vass gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Balboa off to one side. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Franklyn Vass dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Vass wants to clinch up but Balboa keeps it at a distance. A punch combination from Balboa misses. Balboa throws a body kick that misses. Balboa tries to close the distance and clinch but Vass swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Vass instigates a clinch. Balboa wants to break free but Vass has control.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Balboa's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Balboa moves out of range of the body kick from Vass.
Vass looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Balboa! Vass wants to control the pace but Balboa is squirming around nicely. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. You get the feeling that Balboa really doesn't like being in this position too much.
That's one minute gone in the round. Balboa can't escape the position.
Balboa tries to lock up and control but Vass gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Vass landing strikes from the mount. Vass controlling from mount. Balboa is trying to get to the ropes to help him get back to his feet.
Balboa is trying desperately to improve position. Vass controlling from mount. Balboa keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Balboa takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Balboa is looking to get to half guard. Vass lands a big shot there that rocks Balboa but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Vass can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Balboa is looking to escape. Vass is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Balboa to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Balboa shrugs it off. Balboa is desperately trying to improve his position but Vass has a good base and remains in mount. Vass fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Vass has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Balboa's face.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Balboa is in all sorts of trouble here.
Franklyn Vass has got the better of the ground game so far. Vass looking to finish Balboa with some ground and pound. This is bad for Balboa! A nice elbow there by Vass. Balboa is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Vass tries to control but Balboa wriggling away. Vass takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Balboa regains half guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Balboa really wants to buck Vass off and get back to his feet. Vass lands a big shot there that rocks Balboa but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Balboa is bucking up trying to escape but Vass cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Vass lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Franklyn Vass showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Vass drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Vass trying to control the position from guard on top but Balboa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Balboa is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Vass drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Vass jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Balboa is looking to stand up but Vass isn't so interested in that idea. Vass wants to control from the top but Balboa keeps moving. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Balboa pushes Vass off and scrambles back to his feet.
A combination from Balboa does no damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vass fails with an attempt to clinch.
Balboa misses with a series of wild punches.
Balboa throws a hook but Vass avoids it easily. Vass changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Balboa tries to avoid it but Vass manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Balboa to the ground. Balboa escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Balboa shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Vass fails with a takedown attempt. Vass misses with a takedown attempt - Balboa sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Rocky Balboa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Franklyn Vass. Vass scores with a jab. Balboa acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Balboa fails with a takedown attempt. Balboa has a takedown stuffed.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vass dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Vass shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Balboa is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Vass is controlling him. Vass won't allow Balboa to sweep him here. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Vass slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Balboa wants to sweep here but Vass controlling him for the moment. Vass trying to control the position from guard on top but Balboa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Franklyn Vass was stalling too much, according to the referee. Vass will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Balboa tries to score a power double leg takedown but Vass sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Balboa somewhat. Vass tries to clinch but Balboa is having none of it. Vass tries to close the distance and clinch but Balboa swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Vass throws a leg kick but Balboa moved away. Vass fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Rocky Balboa is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Vass fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Balboa looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Balboa thows a big elbow that misses. Balboa would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Vass working a defensive guard here.
