Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Helix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Esko Takanen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takanen misses with an uppercut.
No joy there for Takanen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Esko Takanen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Some bone on bone action there as Helix checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Helix throws a chopping leg kick but Takanen manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Takanen feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Helixs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Takanen lands a really nice looking cross but Helix seems unphased.

Helix tries to keep at a distance but Takanen has taken the fight into the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Takanen.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

An uppercut to the body lands inside from Takanen.
Takanen stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Takanen blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Takanen cracks Helix with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Helix looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Takanen finish him?

Takanen throws a combination. Helix tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Takanen enables Helix to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Takanen manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jeez, Bobby Helix's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Takanen drops Helix with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Helix! Takanen dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
