Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Arona!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Chmeilak!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chmeilak tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Arona is able to avoid easily.
Chmeilak tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Arona paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Arona shoots in and bounces Chmeilak off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Arona drops back, looking for a kneebar! Chmeilak looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Chmeilak looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Chmeilak!
Sloppy strikes there by Chmeilak.
Arona is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Chmeilak has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Chmeilak wants to stand but Arona has his arm trapped.
Arona wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Arona on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Arona tries to get out of the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Arona really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Arona throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Arona closes this distance looking for a takedown but Chmeilak circles away.
Chmeilak scores with a leg kick.
Arona fails with a takedown attempt.
Chmeilak fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Arona throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Chmeilak tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Arona is in Chmeilak's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Chmeilak wants to reverse the position here. Arona has hold of a leg though and he's dropped back looking for a kneebar! The fighters roll across the mat but Chmeilak is forced to tap! Chmeilak looks devastated but at least his leg points in the right direction.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Ricardo Arona!
