Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sho Shinjo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ross The Boss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shinjo's entrance music is Theme of Sho. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sho Shinjo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ross The Boss!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Seu Braga and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Boss tries for a takedown but Shinjo circles away easily
and Shinjo counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Shinjo feints and then cracks The Boss's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow The Boss down.

The Boss doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Shinjo counters with a one-two to the body.
Sho Shinjo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ross The Boss.
Shinjo tries a head kick but it misses.
Shinjo looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Shinjo shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as The Boss sprawls well. The Boss wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Shinjo gets slowly back to his feet.

Shinjo fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but The Boss avoids it really well and circles away.

Shinjo shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches The Boss napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Shinjo is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. The Boss can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Shinjo is sneakily working for an arm triangle but The Boss sees it coming and defends easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sho Shinjo dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Shinjo fails with a takedown attempt.
Shinjo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Shinjo leaves The Boss with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The Boss shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shinjo but Shinjo pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Shinjo tests The Boss's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Shinjo tries to bum rush The Boss with a series of wild strikes but The Boss uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Shinjo tries to close the distance and clinch up but The Boss swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Sho Shinjo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and The Boss counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

The Boss has gone for a leg lock! Shinjo slips out almost immediately though and dives into The Boss's guard.
The Boss is breathing heavily.
Shinjo wants to control from the top but The Boss keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The Boss looking for a guillotine here but Shinjo defends easily.

The Boss had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Shinjo defends it easily.

The Boss is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The Boss is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Shinjo drops back looking for a leg! The Boss is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and The Boss manages to kick Shinjo off! Shinjo jumps back into The Boss's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Sho Shinjo will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

The Boss will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Shinjo throws the kick towards the body but The Boss avoids it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Shinjo. The Boss does a little dance to reset his feet.
The Boss will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Shinjo tries to close the distance and clinch up but The Boss swats him away and circles back towards the center.

A head kick from Shinjo lands but The Boss takes it in his stride.
The Boss displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Shinjo.

Shinjo throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
The Boss shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Shinjo as he avoids it easily.

The Boss doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Shinjo counters with a head kick. That will keep The Boss thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Shinjo lands a head kick. The Boss smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

And that's the end of the fight!
Sho Shinjo showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Shinjo, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
