Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cael Sanderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Tate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cael Sanderson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jon Tate! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Eliza Hachem and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanderson wants to slow Tate down by chopping away at his legs. Sanderson fails with the takedown and Tate counters with a stiff right hand. Tate uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sanderson. Sanderson moves away from the strike by Tate. Sanderson shoots in for a takedown but Tate shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Tate scores with a crisp jab that stopped Sanderson in his tracks. Good shot there by Tate. Tate scores with a jab to the jaw.
It looks like Cael Sanderson has been cut. Tate slaps away a takedown attempt from Sanderson, before circling back to the center of the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cael Sanderson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sanderson has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Sanderson there as he acknowledges the shot. Tate throws out a loose jab but Sanderson uses good head movement to avoid it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sanderson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tate sprawls well. Tate wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sanderson gets slowly back to his feet. Jon Tate seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sanderson fails to land the takedown. Sanderson takes one to the side of the head.
Tate lands a nice shot that snaps Sanderson's head back.
Sanderson misses with a takedown attempt - Tate sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Sanderson is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tate catches Sanderson with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Sanderson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Sanderson staying out of range there. Tate lands with a right hand. Tate tries to sprawl but Sanderson drives through with a takedown into half guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Tate desperately trying to maintain half guard. Sanderson looks to land a strike but Tate avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Tate pushes Sanderson off and gets back to his feet.
Tate is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Sanderson had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sanderson misses with a takedown letting Tate counter with a right hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tate's corner calls for a 1-2. Tate obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Sanderson tries for a takedown but Tate circles away easily and Tate counters with a stiff right hand. Sanderson tries to move into range but Tate moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Donk. Tate catches Sanderson right on the button with a cross. Tate uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Tate slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Sanderson is rocked! Tate drops Sanderson with a huge uppercut! Sanderson drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Tate is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jon Tate!
