Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mauricio Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martin Walter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rua comes to the cage accompanied by Usher-More Remix. Mauricio Rua has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Mauricio Rua! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Martin Walter! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Atkins and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walter fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Rua to the ground. Walter is now in Rua's guard. Walter throws a big right hand that misses. Walter sitting in guard, not really doing much. Rua is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Walter thows a big elbow that misses. Walter throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rua works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Walter content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Walter trying to control but Rua is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walter throws and elbow that misses. Rua uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Walter's guard. Nice move by Rua! Walter has his foot on Rua's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rua works his way back into a safe position though. Walter manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rua manages to get himself to full guard.

Martin Walter has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Walter tries for a takedown but Rua sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Walter fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Rua lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Walter circles away quickly and effectively. Walter closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Rua quickly recovers to half guard. Walter missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Rua is breathing heavily. Walter missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Walter tries to pass to full mount but Rua defends it. Walter throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rua's head. Walter throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Walter thows a huge punch but Rua dodges it nicely.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Walter stalling. Walter is pressing down on Rua's thigh, looking to free his foot. Rua is holding on for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Walter. Rua parries the strikes from Walter easily there. Walter is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Rua to escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Walter working the ground and pound. Walter prevents Rua from escaping the position. Walter sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Rua is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Rua is being controlled here. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Walter misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Walter scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Rua to see if he's OK. An elbow from Walter crashes against the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Walter lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Walter tries to score with some ground and pound. Rua controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. A lull in the action here. Walter tries to advance to mount but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rua is letting Walter control him for a moment. Walter grinds an elbow into Rua's temple. Walter moves into full mount! Walter raining down hammerfists from mount. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Walter is in the full mount, landing strikes. Walter landing strikes from the mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Martin Walter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Walter advances to mount. Walter connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Walter has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Walter takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Walter with a couple of short strikes.

Mauricio Rua has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
And that's the end of the fight! Martin Walter comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Walter has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
