Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Efreitor Peter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brian Bryant! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bryant tries for a takedown but Peter sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Bryant tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Peter paws at him with a jab and circles away. Bryant looks for a takedown but Peter sprawls well. Bryant shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Efreitor Peter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brian Bryant. Bryant keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Bryant wants to clinch. Peter slips a jab and a cross from Bryant.
Bryant pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Peter looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Peter is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peter slips nicely into half guard. Peter takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Peter's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Efreitor Peter just wasn't active enough. Peter thows a left - swing and a miss! Peter gets a takedown into half guard. Peter is controlling the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Efreitor Peter has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. No luck with that takedown attempt from Bryant.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bryant tries to clinch up but Peter circles away and keeps his distance. Bryant throws a head kick that misses. Bryant with a body punch. A glancing blow. Bryant is looking to clinch. Peter feints and as Bryant raises his hands in defense, Peter changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Peter drops back looking for a leg! Bryant is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bryant manages to kick Peter off! Peter jumps back into Bryant's guard. Bryant can't keep his opponent in guard - Peter advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Peter is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bryant is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Efreitor Peter just wasn't active enough. Peter gets a double leg takedown into Bryant's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Efreitor Peter dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Peter scores with a takedown into Bryant's guard. Peter controls from within his opponent's guard. Peter scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Efreitor Peter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Peter passes Bryant's left leg - he's now in half guard. Bryant really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Peter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Peter with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Efreitor Peter wasn't doing enough on the ground. Bryant tries for a takedown but Peter circles away easily and Peter counters with a nice double leg into guard. Peter lands a couple of digs. Bryant has momentary wrist control but Peter slips an elbow through the middle. Peter is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Peter has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Peter working some strikes from top position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Peter is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Peter showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Peter slips nicely into half guard. Peter is thwarting Bryant's attempts to control the position. Peter looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Peter has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Bryant defend it? Peter steps over the head and cranks it - Bryant is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Peter!
