Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pete Doherty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brij Khali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Doherty comes to the cage accompanied by You can't stand me now. Brij Khali will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Pete Doherty! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Brij Khali! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Daniel Bishop and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Khali takes a jab right on the kisser.
Khali swings widly with a right hand
and Doherty counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Doherty is looking to take a break and control but Khali is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Khali is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Khali is defending against the submission attempts here by Doherty.
Khali is trying to maintain the position but Doherty is very close to passing his half guard. Doherty is working for a kimura but Khali is defending it quite comfortably.
Doherty throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's one minute gone in the round. Khali is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Khali is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Doherty gets the takedown into side control. Khali is looking for a sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Khali manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Doherty throwing shots but Khali is blocking nicely. Doherty is pressing down on Khali's thigh, looking to free his foot. Khali is holding on for now. Doherty works his foot free and advances to mount. Doherty wants to control the action but instead Khali gets a body lock and reverses into Doherty's guard! Nice work!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Doherty escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Khali gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Khali trying to control the position from guard on top but Doherty is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Khali stopping the sweep attempt from Doherty. Doherty working a defensive guard here.

Doherty jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Khali is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Khali and Doherty has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Khali really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Doherty. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are battling for position here. Doherty manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Doherty working for a triangle but Khali defends it easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Doherty working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Khali doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Khali manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Khali trying to control the action but Doherty is working from the bottom. Doherty is looking for a sweep. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Khali is looking to take a break and control but Doherty is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Doherty is looking to reverse the position. You can see the frustration on Doherty's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Khali lands a really nice looking cross but Doherty seems unphased.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Doherty tries to clinch up but Khali circles away and keeps his distance. Khali ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Doherty moves away. Doherty fails with a takedown attempt. Doherty shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Khali trying desperately to get to his feet.
Pete Doherty overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Doherty trying to control but he's not successful this time. Khali wants to control but Doherty is having none of it. Khali slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Khali wants to control but Doherty is keeping busy and won't allow it. Khali wants to stand up but Doherty has a hold of him and won't allow it. Doherty wants to get back to full guard but Khali has passed into side control. Doherty looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Doherty prevents Khali from getting a body triangle. Doherty is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Doherty moves away from the strike by Khali. Khali checks a leg kick. Khali throws out a loose jab but Doherty uses good head movement to avoid it. Doherty shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Khali pinned against the cage. Khali gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Khali slow jab from Doherty misses its intended target. Doherty displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Khali throws out the jab. Khali throws a hook to the side of Doherty's head but Doherty sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Doherty staying out of range there. Doherty decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Doherty looks to land a strike but Khali avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Doherty stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Khali swivels though and keeps the full guard. Doherty seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Doherty slips nicely into half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Khali is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Doherty knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Doherty tries to improve position but can't. Khali tries to move to mount but Doherty blocks the move with his legs. Doherty is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Doherty wants to improve his position but Khali is controlling well.
