Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jamal Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Slice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jamal Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aaron Slice! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Slice throws a series of punches but Jones moves out of range. A lazy left from Slice finds it's target. Slice looks to land a combination but Jones avoids it well. Jones drives through and clinches with Slice against the cage.
Slice escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jones fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Jones shoots in for a takedown but Slice shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Some wild striking there from Slice.
Jones avoids a punch combination nicely.
No luck for Jones with that takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jamal Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jones closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Slice pushes Jones away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Jones gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Slice tries to escape but Jones is in control.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Jamal Jones just wasn't active enough. Slice misses with a series of wild punches.
Slice looks gassed! Nice uppercut lands for Jones. That snapped Slice's head back.
Slice takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Jones tries to land a front kick but Slice steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Slice misses with a two punch combination.
Jones thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Slice if he has to take too many more of those.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones closes the distance and clinches. Jones lands with a light punch inside. Slice keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Jones's efforts to push away. Jones looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Jones tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Slice smiles and moves away.
Jones scores a takedown into full mount! Jones working away from the top, dropping strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones punishing his opponent with strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Slice's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Jones lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Jones takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Slice is bucking up trying to escape but Jones cracks him with another couple of good strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jamal Jones dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jamal Jones's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Jones cracks Slice with an open hand slap. Aaron Slice seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Slice falls off balance throwing a combination
and Jones counters with a straight right hand. Nice straight punches there by Jones. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Jones. Jones is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Jones keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Jones scores with a hook. A combination from Slice does no damage. Excellent takedown into side control there by Jones. Slice is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Slice is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Slice sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Jones stands up and we're back to a striking position. Jones connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Slice's hands. Jones darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Slice avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Jones.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones lands with a punch from half guard. Slice is trying to stand.
Jones wants to stand up but Slice is controlling the position.
Jones is nestled in close to Slice, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones wants to get back to his feet.
Jones is controlling the pace.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jamal Jones. Jones lands a jab to Slice's midsection.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Slice defends it nicely. Jones cracks Slice with a right hand to the side of the head. Jones wants to slow Slice down by chopping away at his legs. A momentary lapse in concentration from Slice enables Jones to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Slice manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Slice wants to stand and escape but Jones is having none of it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Slice is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jones misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jones is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Slice moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Slice fails to land with a series of punches.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Jones closes the distance and pushes Slice back into the cage. Jones manages to break the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Slice blocks a leg kick. Jones has taken the fight to the clinch.
Jones wants to break free but Slice has control.
Slice is trying to push Jones away but Jones has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Jones looking for a takedown. Jones wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Slice has him pressed against the cage. Slice keeps control of Jones as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Jones lands an uppercut. Slice wants to break free but Jones has control.
Slice manages to break the clinch.
Slice throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Slice's hands. Slice misses with the combination.
Jones throws a leg kick but Slice checks it. Aaron Slice is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Slice misses with a double jab
and Jones counters with a nice double leg into side control. Slice won't be happy with that. Slice tries to escape but Jones is in control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones throws a strike aimed at the side of Slice's head but Slice avoids it well. Slice sneaks out the side door and pushes Jones away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Slice tries to bum rush Jones with a series of wild strikes but Jones uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Slice swinging wildly here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jones fails to land the takedown. Aaron Slice has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jamal Jones is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jamal Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jones showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Slice.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Aaron Slice. Well Jones has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
