Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rizer Mcmelon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Castiel Koller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rizer Mcmelon has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rizer Mcmelon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Castiel Koller!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcmelon shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Koller as he jumps to the side.
Mcmelon tries to score a power double leg takedown but Koller sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mcmelon somewhat.
Koller defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mcmelon.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rizer Mcmelon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Koller fails with the takedown.
Mcmelon shoots in and drives through. Koller sprawls well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mcmelon tries to clinch up.

Mcmelon gets the takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mcmelon decides to stand back up. Mcmelon steps back and let's Koller get back to his feet.
Mcmelon looks for a takedown but Koller sprawls well.
Koller changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mcmelon tries to avoid it but Koller manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mcmelon to the ground. Mcmelon escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Koller doesn't succeed with the takedown

so Mcmelon counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mcmelon trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mcmelon tries to stand but Koller is controlling from the bottom.
Koller avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mcmelon trying to stand up but can't free himself from Koller's guard.
Mcmelon loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Koller is working an open guard so Mcmelon takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Rizer Mcmelon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Koller shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Mcmelon counters with a single leg into guard. Koller didn't expect that.

Koller working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mcmelon doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mcmelon manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Mcmelon seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Mcmelon stands up from Koller's guard - Mcmelon perhaps looking for a knockout.
Mcmelon shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Koller as he jumps to the side.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mcmelon wants to clinch up but Koller keeps it at a distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rizer Mcmelon dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Mcmelon moves in looking to clinch but Koller pushes him off.
Koller swats away the attempt to clinch by Mcmelon.
Mcmelon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Koller as he avoids it easily.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Koller enables Mcmelon to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Koller manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Mcmelon decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Koller, up you get!

Mcmelon closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mcmelon frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Mcmelon punching from mount but Koller doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Mcmelon throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

Mcmelon goes for an armbar but Koller turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Koller.
Mcmelon is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Koller trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Mcmelon has his hands on Koller's head, controlling the position.
Koller stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mcmelon swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Koller looking to improve position, pressing down on Mcmelon's thigh with his hand. Mcmelon seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Koller paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Koller's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Mcmelon picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
