Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cung Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cung Lee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Shields! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Russell Pearce and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some bone on bone action there as Lee checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Shields swats away the attempt to clinch by Lee. Shields dodges the punch combination from Lee.
Lee checks a leg kick. Lee tries a head kick but it misses.

Mike Shields seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shields throws a leg kick but Lee sees it coming and moves out of range. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! and Lee counters with a body kick. The fight stays on the outside here - Lee looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Shields closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lee quickly recovers to half guard. Shields is looking to take a break and control but Lee is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Lee looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Lee tries to roll over but Shields keeps him under control. Shields thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Shields seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lee does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

It looks like Mike Shields has been cut. Lee lands an elbow just above Shields 's eye. This has been an exciting period of action! Lee looking to throw knees to the head but Shields is blocking nicely.
Lee is trying to maintain a safe position but Shields gets an underhook and turns Lee into the cage. Lee has a couple of punches blocked by Shields.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Lee tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Shields tries to circle away but Lee has him pinned against the cage. Shields lands a body shot. Lee using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Shields has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Lee lands a nice uppercut. Shields tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Lee's elbow. Lee scores with a knee to the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Shields shoots for a double leg takedown but Lee sprawls well. He's pushed Shields's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Cung Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Shields. Shields throws a nice looking combination but Lee bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lee lands an elbow that stopped Shields in his tracks for a moment. Lee has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Shields is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Shields goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Lee manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Shields displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lee throws out the jab. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cung Lee dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Mike Shields's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Shields gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Shields takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Lee looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lee working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shields doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shields manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Shields got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lee has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Shields has managed to get both his arms back between Lee's legs - danger averted. Shields must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Shields trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Lee had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Shields defends it easily. Lee keeping moving, preventing Shields from controlling successfully. Lee wants to sweep here but Shields controlling him for the moment.

Shields might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Lee kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
