Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ed Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vlad Stolbov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stolbov has chosen Guano Apes - Open your eyes as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ed Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vlad Stolbov! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Matheus Silva and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stolbov looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Silva! Silva is bucking up trying to escape but Stolbov cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Stolbov working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Silva keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Silva tries to lock up and control but Stolbov gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Stolbov thowing shots but they're missing. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Silva tries to get back to half guard but can't. Stolbov takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Stolbov is in the full mount, landing strikes. This has been an exciting period of action! Stolbov goes for an armbar but Silva turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Silva. Silva trying to control but Stolbov is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stolbov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Stolbov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Stolbov is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Silva tries to free his leg and advance position but Stolbov is retaining full guard. Silva trying to control but Stolbov is working from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ed Silva. Stolbov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Silva tries to avoid it but Stolbov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Silva to the ground. Silva escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Silva connects with a nice looking jab.
Silva stuffs the takedown attempt from Stolbov. Stolbov gets slowly back to his feet. Stolbov shoots in but Silva avoids the takedown attempt easily. Ed Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vlad Stolbov. Stolbov looks gassed!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Silva fails in his attempt to clinch. Stolbov avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Silva tries to clinch and Stolbov counters with a lovely straight right hand! Silva misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ed Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stolbov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Silva is looking to clinch but Stolbov is avoiding it.

Stolbov has Silva pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Silva manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Silva has Stolbov pressed against the cage.

Stolbov turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Stolbov manages to end up in side control. Stolbov wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Silva, who protects the arm well. Silva manages to get back to half guard. Silva is trying to stand up here but Stolbov is controlling him well. Stolbov is looking for a kimura here.
Stolbov is looking to advance position but Silva won't allow it. Silva makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nice shot by Silva. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Stolbov avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Silva wants to clinch. Silva connects with an inside leg kick. Silva lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Ed Silva dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Stolbov wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving. Stolbov won't allow Silva to get back to his feet. Stolbov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Silva is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Stolbov rolls with it to try and escape but Silva cranks on the arm and Stolbov is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
