Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Franklin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masahiko Akinawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Franklin comes to the cage accompanied by Sandstorm. Akinawa has chosen Boots Randolph - Yakety Sax as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Anderson Franklin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Masahiko Akinawa! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Akinawa tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Franklin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Akinawa wants to sweep but no luck. Franklin stands up from Akinawa's guard - Franklin perhaps looking for a knockout. Franklin clinches up against the cage. Akinawa is trying to break free. and Akinawa makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Franklin throws a combination that misses and Akinawa counters with a lovely straight right hand! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Franklin lands a jab-cross combination. Akinawa gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Franklin counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Franklin clinches up against the cage. Franklin can't break the clinch.
