Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Russ Rutger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kruskal Wallis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rutger comes to the cage accompanied by Oh...Canada by Classified. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Russ Rutger! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kruskal Wallis! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Taro Takaoka and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No joy there for Rutger, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Wallis looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Rutger fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Wallis manages to avoid it. Wallis tries to score with a low kick but Rutger moves his leg out of the way. Rutger closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Wallis's guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Rutger is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Rutger looking to pass the guard. Rutger postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Rutger trying to control but Wallis is working from the bottom. Wallis avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Rutger throwing strikes from guard but Wallis blocks nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rutger cracks Wallis with a solid left hand. Rutger has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Rutger is pushing down on Wallis's leg trying to pass to half guard. Wallis is fighting to maintain full guard but Rutger has managed to sneak the leg through. Rutger throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Rutger prevents Wallis from improving his position. Rutger slows the pace down in half guard. Wallis is looking to control Rutger's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Wallis avoid being mounted? Rutger scoring with strikes to the body and head. Rutger is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Wallis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rutger. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rutger is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Rutger is thwarting Wallis's attempts to control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rutger thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Wallis's head. Rutger is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. That's three minutes gone in the round. Ground and pound from Rutger. Rutger scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Rutger seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Wallis tries to get to full guard but Rutger has control of the leg. Rutger with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Rutger working over Wallis with some ground and pound. Wallis looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rutger is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Wallis!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rutger lands a nice shot to the head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rutger controlling the position easily from mount. Rutger with a couple of short strikes. Rutger controlling the pace for now. Wallis in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Rutger is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Wallis can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Rutger fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Rutger cracks Wallis with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Russ Rutger dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Rutger lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Decent striking displayed by Rutger there. Wallis throws a nice looking combination but Rutger bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Nice jab by Rutger. Rutger lands with a slapping head kick. Wallis will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's one minute gone in the round. Rutger connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Horrible takedown by Rutger or perhaps it was just good defense by Wallis which made him look bad. Wallis throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Rutger counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Kruskal Wallis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wallis misses with a double jab
and Rutger counters with a nice uppercut. Wallis rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rutger moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Rutger lands a jab to the nose. Rutger throws a looping overhand right but Wallis ducks down to avoid it. Wallis misses with the combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wallis throws a left and a right that both miss
and Rutger counters with a nice uppercut. Wallis throws an off balance right hand
and Rutger cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Rutger paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Rutger dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Wallis is breathing heavily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Wallis throws a lazy right hand but Rutger sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Rutger scores with a decent looking hook. Wallis misses with a wild body shot. Nice body punch from Rutger. Some bone on bone action there as Rutger checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wallis takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Russ Rutger is winning the standup battle so far. Wallis is looking to score with low kicks. Rutger's jab looks to have found its range, popping Wallis under the eye. Rutger digs a good hook to Wallis's body.
Rutger scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Rutger connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Wallis slips a jab from Rutger.

Kruskal Wallis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Rutger with a body punch. A glancing blow. Rutger lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Wallis on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Rutger takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Wallis throws a nice looking combination but Rutger bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Wallis swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Rutger counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wallis ducks under a wild hook from Rutger. Rutger lands with a cross. Wallis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Wallis misses the jab. Rutger shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Wallis's guard. Rutger is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Rutger is pushing down on Wallis's leg trying to pass to half guard. Wallis is fighting to maintain full guard but Rutger has managed to sneak the leg through. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's one minute gone in the round. Rutger lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Wallis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Rutger lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Rutger tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Rutger is in the full mount, landing strikes. Rutger controlling from the full mount. Wallis is working to get back to half guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rutger looking to control and managing it successfully. Wallis is wriggling around trying to escape.

Wallis is rocked! Rutger breaks from Wallis's wrist control and lands an elbow. Wallis is still in real trouble! Can Rutger finish him? Rutger throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Wallis has his hands clasped together but Rutger breaks the hold and Wallis is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Rutger!
