0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcelo Oliveira! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Thiago Cunha and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oliveira lands a right hook to the body.
Oliveira throws a head kick but Raimi moves out of range.
Oliveira fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Raimi manages to avoid it. Raimi shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Oliveira is trying to stand up here but Raimi is controlling him well. Raimi seems to be working for a kimura but Oliveira defends the submission attempt. Raimi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Oliveira is just riding it out for now. Raimi eventually gives up the hold.

That's three minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Raimi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Raimi thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Raimi slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
