Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matthieu Renaud (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Montillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Renaud comes to the cage accompanied by Bite Marks/ Screeching Weasel. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Matthieu Renaud! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jean Montillo! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Sano and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Montillo closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Montillo working the head and body with strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Montillo is chipping away with strikes.
The strikes coming from Montillo are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Montillo working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Montillo scores with a couple of short elbows. Montillo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Montillo is trying to get an arm triangle but Renaud is defending well. Renaud tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Montillo wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Renaud avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Montillo. Renaud is not content to let Montillo control the position. Montillo postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Montillo wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Renaud, who protects the arm well. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Montillo fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Renaud is looking to reverse the position. Montillo is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Renaud is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Montillo lands a few punches from side control.

That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Montillo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Montillo works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Montillo throws a strike aimed at the side of Renaud's head but Renaud avoids it well. Renaud on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Renaud tries to get out of the position. Montillo connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Renaud some visible discomfort.

Montillo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Renaud is just riding it out for now. Montillo eventually gives up the hold. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Renaud lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Montillo circles away quickly and effectively. Renaud misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Montillo has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Renaud throws the kick towards the body but Montillo avoids it. A jab from Renaud misses. Renaud gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Montillo to score an easy takedown into full guard. Montillo loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Montillo slips nicely into half guard. Montillo lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Jean Montillo has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Montillo thows a huge punch but Renaud dodges it nicely.

It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Renaud defends it well. Montillo missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Montillo prevents Renaud from improving his position. Renaud keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Renaud has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Montillo looking to control.

Montillo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Renaud gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Montillo has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Renaud is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Montillo. Montillo is trying to improve his position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Montillo is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Renaud's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Renaud blocks the strikes from Montillo.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jean Montillo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Renaud attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Renaud moves out of range of the strikes. Montillo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Renaud wants to clinch. Renaud jabbing away but nothing is landing. Montillo closes the distance and clinches up with Renaud, looking for a takedown. Montillo pushes Renaud against the cage but Renaud circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Montillo dives in and scores a takedown into Renaud's guard. Montillo trying to control the position from guard on top but Renaud is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Renaud not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round. Renaud utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Montillo throwing strikes but missing. The ground and pound from Montillo seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Montillo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Renaud is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Montillo couldn't care less - he's delighted!
