The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gilbert shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gilbert showed some decent athleticism there.
Gilbert is trying to control the action in half guard but Pitbull is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Pitbull tries to get to full guard but Gilbert has control of the leg.
Pitbull is looking to control Gilbert's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pitbull avoid being mounted?
Gilbert postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Pitbull to stand up.
Gilbert drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Gilbert goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Pitbull has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Gilbert but great work by Pitbull.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Pitbull escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gilbert gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Pitbull has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Gilbert is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Pitbull.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Gilbert looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Pitbull tries to bum rush Gilbert with a series of wild strikes but Gilbert uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Pitbull cracks a nice hook into Gilbert's ribs.
Gilbert shoots in for a takedown but Pitbull shows good takedown defense.

Gilbert is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Gilbert is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pitbull is just riding it out for now. Gilbert eventually gives up the hold.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gilbert is looking for submissions but instead, Pitbull has regained full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pitbull is on top in guard.
Pitbull slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Gilbert wants to sweep but no luck.

Gilbert has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Pitbull escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Pitbull!
Pitbull thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Gilbert tries to buck Pitbull off but Pitbull is having none of it.
Gilbert manages to work his way to half guard, despite Pitbull's best efforts.

Carlinho Pitbull has got the better of the ground game so far.

Gilbert makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Pitbull throws a right and a left that Gilbert avoids nicely.
Gilbert throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pitbull's waist but Pitbull gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gilbert off to one side.
Pitbull drops Gilbert with a straight right hand, right on the button! Pitbull follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
