Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Kyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Kaplan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kyle kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is UFC - Face the Pain . Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Kaplan!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kyle feints and then cracks Kaplan's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kaplan down.
Kyle has taken the fight to the clinch.
Kyle breaks from the clinch.
Kaplan tries to close the distance and clinch but Kyle swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kaplan throws a jab when Kyle was well out of range.
Kaplan shoots in for a takedown but Kyle shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Kaplan tries to move into range but Kyle moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
It looks like Joe Kaplan has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kaplan throws a low kick but it's checked well by Kyle .
Kaplan scores with a takedown into Kyle 's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Kaplan trying to control but Kyle is working from the bottom.
Kaplan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Kaplan works over Kyle with some ground and pound from guard.
Kaplan stops Kyle from standing up.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Kaplan's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Kyle on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kyle tries to get out of the position.
Kaplan tries to stand but Kyle is controlling from the bottom.
Kaplan working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kaplan wants to control from the top but Kyle keeps moving.
Kyle wants to get back to his feet but Kaplan passes into half guard.
Kaplan decides to return to a standing position.
Kaplan fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Kaplan on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Kyle . Kyle obviously looking to wear him down.

Kaplan closes the distance but Kyle moves to the side
and Kyle counters with an outside leg kick.
Kaplan looks gassed!

Kyle gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Kyle breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kyle wants to clinch but Kaplan slips to the side
and Kaplan counters with a straight right hand.
Nice defenses there by Kyle .
Kyle is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kaplan on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Kyle tries to close the distance and clinch but Kaplan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kaplan moves in looking to clinch but Kyle pushes him off.
Kyle on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
It looks like Mike Kyle has been cut.
Kyle knocks Kaplan to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?
Kaplan is rocked!
Kyle wants to stand but Kaplan has his arm trapped.
Kaplan tries to buck Kyle off but Kyle is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kyle decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Kaplan fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kyle avoids it really well and circles away.
Mike Kyle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Kaplan.
Kaplan takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
That has opened up Joe Kaplan's cut even more.
Kaplan misses with a takedown attempt - Kyle sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Joe Kaplan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kyle uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Kaplan has time to react.
The cut above Joe Kaplan's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Kyle circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Kaplan drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Kyle follows Kaplan to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mike Kyle !
