Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Boobs McGrabbin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Tree (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Boobs McGrabbin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rob Tree!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tree uses good head movement to avoid the hook from McGrabbin.
Tree misses the shot to the body.

McGrabbin drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tree is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, McGrabbin asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Tree really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McGrabbin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

McGrabbin is trying to get an arm triangle but Tree is defending well.

McGrabbin is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Tree is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

McGrabbin goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Tree has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for McGrabbin but great work by Tree.
McGrabbin is looking for a sweep.

McGrabbin is trying to control Tree's posture but Tree avoids it.
Tree tries to move into full mount but can't pass McGrabbin's legs.
The referee asks Tree politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Tree prefers to stall for the moment though.
McGrabbin is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
McGrabbin manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

McGrabbin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Tree defends it well.

McGrabbin passes to side control.
McGrabbin tries to move into full mount but can't pass Tree's legs.

McGrabbin working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

McGrabbin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no McGrabbin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McGrabbin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

McGrabbin is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Tree knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
McGrabbin trying to control the position but Tree is working away.
Tree manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tree can do anything to dispel that myth.

McGrabbin trying to mount his opponent but Tree defends it.
McGrabbin throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
McGrabbin throwing shots but Tree is blocking nicely.
Tree is not content to let McGrabbin control the position.

McGrabbin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Tree is just riding it out for now. McGrabbin eventually gives up the hold.
Tree pushes McGrabbin off looking to stand but McGrabbin dives back in and keeps control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Boobs McGrabbin dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Tree will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Tree fails to land with a series of punches.
McGrabbin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tree as he jumps to the side.
Tree tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A head kick misses from Tree.
Tree swings and misses with a hook to the body.
McGrabbin throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Tree sees it coming and avoids it easily.
McGrabbin avoids the head kick by Tree.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Tree.
Tree tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. McGrabbin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Rob Tree seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tree tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Tree scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Tree lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McGrabbin circles away quickly and effectively.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting McGrabbin here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
McGrabbin avoids the head kick by Tree.

Tree pushes McGrabbin up against the cage in a clinch.
Knees in the clinch landing for Tree.
Tree landing knees to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Tree lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

Tree scores with a knee to the head.

McGrabbin has Tree pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Tree manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Tree controlling the action here for a moment.

Tree escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Tree lands a leg kick that knocks McGrabbin off balance momentarily.
Tree throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Tree tries to clinch but McGrabbin is having none of it.
Tree throws a quick inside leg kick.

McGrabbin dives in and scores a takedown into Tree's guard.
Tree being controlled here, momentarily.
McGrabbin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tree swivels though and keeps the full guard.
McGrabbin throwing strikes from guard but Tree blocks nicely.
Tree wants to stand and escape but McGrabbin is having none of it.

Tree manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Tree misses with a few strikes there.
Tree is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Tree lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Tree works over McGrabbin's head and body with a nice combination.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tree tries to close the distance and clinch but McGrabbin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Tree ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Tree swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rob Tree showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


McGrabbin keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Tree throws a head kick but McGrabbin moves out of range.
Tree tries a head kick but it misses.
Tree moves in looking to clinch but McGrabbin pushes him off.
Tree ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
McGrabbin has a takedown stuffed.
Tree bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Tree misses with a two punch combination.
Tree takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Tree defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McGrabbin.
Tree is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down McGrabbin rather than just go for the knockout.

McGrabbin fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Boobs McGrabbin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McGrabbin on the wrong end of a nice jab.

Tree moves into range and clinches up with McGrabbin.
Oh McGrabbin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Tree creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through McGrabbin's defenses.

Clinched against the cage, Tree lands a big elbow that drops McGrabbin! The ref dives in to save him from more shots - McGrabbin is complaining that he's OK but he was done.
