PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Arya Stark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akio Masaru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Arya Stark!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Akio Masaru!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Taro Takaoka and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stark takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Nice straight punches there by Masaru. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Masaru.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Masaru crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Stark - the referee stops the clock and Masaru gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Stark. Masaru manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Masaru pivots, looking for a leg kick but Stark is out of range and Masaru settles back down.
Stark with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Masaru to score with a decent uppercut.
Stark throws a leg kick but Masaru moved away.
Stark tries to close the distance and clinch up but Masaru swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Stark misses with a head kick.
Stark tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Stark with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Masaru throws a leg kick
and Stark finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Stark throws a sloppy head kick and Masaru moves out of range easily.
Masaru shoots in looking for a takedown. Stark tries to sprawl out of it but Masaru keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Stark manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Masaru circles away from the clinch attempt.
Masaru keeps the fight on the outside.
Stark moves forwards but Masaru connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Stark tries to close the distance and clinch up but Masaru swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Stark stuffs the takedown.
Stark gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Masaru.
Stark staying out of range there.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Stark.
The fight stays on the outside here - Stark looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stark gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Masaru counters with a nice uppercut.
Stark takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Stark misses with a body kick.
Masaru works over Stark's head and body with a nice combination.
Masaru ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Stark moves away.
Stark attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Stark tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Masaru counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
A lazy left from Masaru finds it's target.
Masaru is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round!Stark had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Masaru walks forward, straight into a front kick from Stark.
Stark is breathing heavily.
Stark tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Masaru paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Stark pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Stark throws and low kick but Masaru moves out of range easily.

Masaru darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Masaru trying to control the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Stark has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Masaru is working away from the top position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Masaru moves nicely into side control.
Masaru is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Stark's shoulder. That is not cool.

Masaru has an Americana. Stark didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Masaru is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Masaru hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
