Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gary Downes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nobutaka Hiyoshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hiyoshi has chosen Baka Survivor as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gary Downes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nobutaka Hiyoshi! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Downes pivots, looking for a leg kick but Hiyoshi is out of range and Downes settles back down. A telegraphed right hand from Downes misses the target. Hiyoshi connects with a single shot there. Hiyoshi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Downes misses with the combination.
Hiyoshi lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Downes pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Hiyoshi throws a nice outside leg kick. Downes showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hiyoshi.
Hiyoshi throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Downes's head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hiyoshi digs a good body shot into Downes's ribs. Hiyoshi scores with a decent looking hook. Hiyoshi wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Downes is breathing heavily. Hiyoshi scores with a leg kick.
Hiyoshi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Downes gets tackled into the cage by Hiyoshi. Hiyoshi maintains the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hiyoshi jumps guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Hiyoshi lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Downes! Hiyoshi postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Downes looks a forlorn figure.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Hiyoshi lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Downes hang on? The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Downes holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Hiyoshi tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hiyoshi controlling the position easily from mount. Hiyoshi with good strikes from the mount here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hiyoshi controlling from mount. Hiyoshi's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nobutaka Hiyoshi dominated that round. That's time! Downes's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Downes takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
It looks like Gary Downes has been cut. Nobutaka Hiyoshi seems to be getting the better of the standup. Hiyoshi scores with a hook to the body. Downes takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Downes tried to score with a low kick but Hiyoshi checks it. Downes throws an off balance right hand
and Hiyoshi counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Hiyoshi steps in with a hook that catches Downes right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Hiyoshi follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Downes looks absolutely devastated.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nobutaka Hiyoshi!
