Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scotty Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan Rodman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scotty Davis has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Scotty Davis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jordan Rodman! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davis misses with a body kick. Davis darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Davis is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Davis decides to return to a standing position. Davis scores a takedown into full mount! Davis content just to control the position here. You get the feeling that Rodman really doesn't like being in this position too much.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Davis landing strikes, looking to finish! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rodman wants to try and get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davis is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Rodman to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Rodman shrugs it off. Rodman trying desperately to get to his feet.
Davis controlling the position easily from mount. Davis landing strikes from the mount. Davis has control of Rodman's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Rodman regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rodman moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Davis pushes Rodman up against the cage in a clinch. Davis has hold of one of Rodman's legs. Rodman is fighting the takedown attempt but Davis gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Davis won't allow Rodman to get back to his feet. Davis slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Davis stops Rodman from standing up. Rodman looks gassed! Davis stands and throws Rodman's legs to the side, diving into side control. Davis decides to stand back up. Davis steps back and let's Rodman get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fight moves into the clinch position. Davis prevents the takedown attempt.
Davis has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Rodman clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Rodman wants to get back to his feet. Davis looking for the choke but no joy. Davis lands a shot to the head. Rodman is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Davis.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Davis looking for the choke but no joy. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rodman is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Davis gets his way!

Scotty Davis dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
No joy there for Rodman, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rodman throws a series of punches but Davis avoids them all with ease. Davis moves into range and clinches up with Rodman. Davis manages to break the clinch.

Rodman gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Rodman shoots in for a double leg but Davis sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Davis shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rodman's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rodman being controlled here, momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rodman keeping full guard, as Davis tries to pass. Davis slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Scotty Davis. Davis pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rodman looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Excellent takedown into side control there by Davis.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rodman wants to get back to his feet. Rodman is breathing heavily. Rodman is looking to get back to his feet here but Davis is keeping cool and he's managed to take Rodman's back. Davis is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Davis's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Davis is working the ground and pound. Can Rodman escape? Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Davis really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Rodman.

He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Davis chips away with some ground and pound.

Davis decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Rodman, up you get! Davis decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Rodman takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Davis in particular looking to stall. Rodman is trying to escape back to his feet but Davis uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Rodman is pushing Davis's head away, looking to escape. Davis manages to hold on to the position though. Jordan Rodman has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Davis tries for a kimura but Rodman is defending well. Rodman takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rodman is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Davis lands an elbow. Davis scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Rodman to see if he's OK. Rodman is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Rodman tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Davis is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Rodman taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Davis.
