Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mercier tries to clinch but Racie is having none of it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mercier looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Mercier tries to close the distance and clinch but Racie swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Racie is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mercier tries to close the distance and clinch up but Racie swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Racie manages to get back to half guard.

Mercier looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Racie with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The fighters are battling for position here. Racie manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Racie working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mercier doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mercier manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Mercier is working Racie over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Racie working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mercier doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Racie is tightening it up a little... Mercier has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Mercier reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Mercier taps out! nice BJJ there by Racie!
