Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Honest Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nintendo Takada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Griffin's entrance music is I'm the Scatman. A fine choice. Takada has chosen Super Mario Bros Theme Soundtrack as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Honest Griffin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Nintendo Takada!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin leaves Takada with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Griffin moves out of range of the body kick from Takada.
Griffin misses with a hook. Takada ducked under it nicely.
Takada swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Griffin throws a jab when Takada was well out of range.
Takada ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Takada comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Takada closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Griffin quickly recovers to half guard.
Takada throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Takada is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Takada is trying to work for a kimura but Griffin is defending well.

Takada is pressing down on Griffin's thigh, looking to free his foot. Griffin is holding on for now.
Griffin is trying to get back to full guard.
Takada moves into full mount! Griffin won't be happy about that!

Griffin is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Takada lands with some strikes.
Griffin wants to control but Takada is having none of it.
Takada throwing strikes here but Griffin is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Takada prevents Griffin from getting the reversal.
Takada looking to finish Griffin with some ground and pound. This is bad for Griffin!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Griffin is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Griffin wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Takada.
Griffin gets back to half guard.

Takada thows a huge punch but Griffin dodges it nicely.
Takada misses with a head shot. Griffin uses the momentum to regain guard.
Takada looking to sit in guard and control but Griffin gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Griffin stops Takada from standing up.
Takada has a closed guard, preventing Griffin from standing up.
Takada controls Griffin momentarily but Griffin frees himself.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Griffin trying to control the position from guard on top but Takada is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Takada wants to get back to his feet but Griffin is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Griffin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Takada is keeping the position for now.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Takada tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Griffin is able to avoid easily.
Griffin fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Takada is out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nintendo Takada dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Takada counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Takada.
Griffin preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Griffin keeping moving, preventing Takada from controlling successfully.
Takada is standing up over Griffin. Griffin looks to escape but Takada dives into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Griffin wants to get back to his feet but Takada drags him back down.

Griffin managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Takada.

Takada is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Griffin has escaped the position, nice work there.
Griffin parries the strikes from Takada easily there. Takada is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Griffin to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Takada lands a few punches from side control.
An elbow from Takada crashes against the mat.
Takada tries to score with some ground and pound. Griffin controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Takada postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Griffin wants to get back to his feet.

Takada is trying to get an arm triangle but Griffin is defending well.
Takada working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Takada throwing strikes but Griffin manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Griffin is looking to take a break and control but Takada is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Takada moves into full guard.
Takada is adopting a defensive guard.
Takada has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Takada looking for a sweep. Not yet Takada, not yet.

Griffin's corner is telling him to maintain position.

We're going to have a standup here because Honest Griffin wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Griffin moves out of range as Takada throws a body kick.
Takada looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
A punch combination from Takada misses.
Griffin with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Takada to score with a decent uppercut.
Griffin misses with a body shot.
Griffin tries to clinch up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Griffin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Takada tries to land a front kick but Griffin steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nice uppercut there from Takada.
Horrible takedown by Takada or perhaps it was just good defense by Griffin which made him look bad.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nintendo Takada showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Takada tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Takada has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Takada thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Takada is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Griffin knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Takada is putting a hurting on Griffin here, landing some big shots from side control.

Takada throwing strikes but Griffin manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Griffin tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Takada.
Takada is looking for a sweep. Griffin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Nintendo Takada is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Takada is trying to control but can't.

Griffin decides to stand and escape the position.
Takada avoids a kick to the body.

Griffin cracks a nice hook into Takada's ribs.

Takada scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Sloppy strikes there by Takada.
Takada scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Griffin to see if he's OK.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Takada wants to lay and pray for a moment but Griffin keeps working.
Takada tries to advance to mount but Griffin denies him.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Nintendo Takada comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Takada has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
