The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hitch shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hitch showed some decent athleticism there.
Sears wants to control but Hitch is keeping busy.
Hitch prevents Sears from improving his position.
Hitch passes to side control.
Hitch throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Sears tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hitch wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Hitch throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Hitch taking a breather here.
Hitch connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Sears some visible discomfort.
Sears is trying to get back to half guard.
Sears really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hitch. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Hitch looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Hitch working the ground and pound but Sears is defending the strikes.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Hitch trying to control the action but Sears is working from the bottom.
Sears is trying to improve his position.
Sears is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Sears manages to get back to half guard.

Hitch is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Sears has managed to free his arm - good work.
Hitch has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hitch prevents Sears from improving his position.

Sears tries to roll over but Hitch keeps him under control.
