Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chuck Finley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 54 - 0, fighting out of New York, Simon Standa! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Joseph Jones and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Standa keeps the fight on the outside. Standa swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Simon Standa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Standa throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Finley is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Standa looks to land a combination but Finley avoids it well. Finley tries a head kick but it misses.
Standa swats away the attempt to clinch by Finley. Standa is trying hard to land a takedown here. Finley sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Finley doesn't manage to clinch there - Standa circles away.
Finley tries to close the distance and clinch but Standa swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Finley wants to clinch up but Standa keeps it at a distance. Standa shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Finley can't escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Standa prevents Finley from getting the reversal. Standa trying to control but Finley is having none of it. Standa lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Finley in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Finley tries to hold on but Standa postures up. Finley is desperately trying to improve his position but Standa has a good base and remains in mount. BOOM! Standa connects with a massive shot to the dome!

That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Finley is working to get back to half guard.
Finley is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Standa won't let Finley get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fight stays on the outside here - Standa looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Finley avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Finley plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Finley tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Standa manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Horrible takedown by Standa or perhaps it was just good defense by Finley which made him look bad. Standa is breathing heavily. Standa shoots in for a takedown but Finley shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Chuck Finley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Simon Standa. Finley lands with a kick to the temple. Standa shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Standa fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Standa swats away the attempt to clinch by Finley. Finley doesn't manage to clinch there - Standa circles away.

Finley is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Finley is looking to sinch up a triangle. Standa throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Finley's body to avoid the submission. Finley has instead reached around Standa's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Finley arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
