The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gilbert is looking to clinch.
Gilbert scores with a nice right hand.

Gilbert scores with a hook to the body. Timmons takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Timmons gets cracked there but stands up to it.
That kick from Gilbert tenderised Timmons's leg. Timmons is trying to keep his angry face on.
Timmons shoots for a double leg takedown but Gilbert sprawls well. He's pushed Timmons's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Gilbert digs a good body shot into Timmons's ribs.
Gilbert misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gilbert wants to clinch up but Timmons keeps it at a distance.
Timmons fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gilbert avoids it really well and circles away.
Phil Gilbert seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Timmons shoots in but no luck this time.
Phil Gilbert has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bart Timmons.

Gilbert pounces like a tiger and cracks Timmons with a vicious hook! Timmons is down but not out! Gilbert follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
