Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Arthur Couture!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jared White!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Alexandre Firmino and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
White connects with an inside leg kick.
White with a lazy takedown attempt
and Couture counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in White's guard now.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Couture sitting in guard here, content to control.
White pushes Couture off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
White tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
White gets a clinch.
Couture turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Couture manages to end up in side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Couture is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
White pushes Couture away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Couture gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

White sneaks out the side door and pushes Couture away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Couture lands with a nice body punch.
White tries to clinch up
and Couture decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in White's guard.
Couture stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. White swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Couture with a flurry of punches that miss.
Couture's corner is telling him to maintain position.
White looking to hit a scissor sweep but Couture is one step ahead there.

Couture controls from within his opponent's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Arthur Couture has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Couture gets a clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Couture's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
White tries to clinch there but Couture circles away.
White defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Couture.

White is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

White has had enough of the clinch but Couture keeps him there for the moment.
Couture wants to break free but White has control.
Couture is trying to trip White. He has hold of a leg but White is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Couture persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Couture slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

White falls off balance throwing a combination
and Couture counters with a shoot takedown. White fights it but they end up in guard.
Couture stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. White swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Couture stands and throws White's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Couture scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at White to see if he's OK.
Couture stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Couture shoots in and gets a takedown into White's guard.

White is trying to stand up here but Couture is controlling him well.
White is breathing heavily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

White goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Couture turns into him and now he's in White's guard.
Arthur Couture overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Couture thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Couture slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Arthur Couture wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Couture takes the fight into the clinch.
White tries to stall but Couture uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

White tries to break the clinch but Couture is controlling the position.
White manages to break the clinch.
White throws a head kick but Couture moves out of range.
Jared White seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Couture shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. White defends it nicely.
Couture fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with White, pushing him back against the cage.
Couture takes an elbow to the forehead.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Couture blocks the elbow strike.
Couture blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Couture is looking for a takedown up against the cage. White gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
White has taken the fight to the clinch.
The referee calls for Couture to work.

Couture is staying active underneath White, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Couture shoots in looking for a takedown. White tries to sprawl out of it but Couture keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. White manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Arthur Couture. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Couture counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Couture keeps the fight on the outside.
Couture closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

White tries to close the distance and clinch up but Couture swats him away and circles back towards the center.

White drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and White jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Couture is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Couture wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and White is now in half guard.
White prevents Couture from standing back up.
Arthur Couture is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

I would just about give that final round to Jared White.
