Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Travis Jaeger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gunnar Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

19 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Travis Jaeger! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gunnar Nelson! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Alyssa Summers and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jaeger feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Nelson tries to land a sweep but no joy. Jaeger tries to free his leg and advance position but Nelson is retaining full guard. Jaeger forces his way into half guard. Jaeger throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The fighters are battling for position here. Nelson manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Jaeger pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Nelson is keeping the position for now. Jaeger being controlled here momentarily. Jaeger drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jaeger jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Nelson controls Jaeger momentarily but Jaeger frees himself. Jaeger works a leg free and moves into half guard. Jaeger is thwarting Nelson's attempts to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jaeger seems to be working for a kimura but Nelson defends the submission attempt. Nelson trying to hold on to Jaeger's head to control him but Jaeger postures up.
Jaeger is looking to take a break and control but Nelson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Nelson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jaeger's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jaeger's back! Nelson is working the ground and pound. Can Jaeger escape? Nelson scores with strikes from the back.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Nelson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jaeger defends it easily. Jaeger slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Jaeger wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nelson, who protects the arm well. Nelson is not content to let Jaeger control the position. Nelson manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nelson missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Nelson slips a nice elbow through Jaeger's hands, connecting with Jaeger's forehead. Nelson lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Nelson keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Nelson scores with a couple of good hammerfists. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nelson wants to control but Jaeger is keeping him busy. Nelson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jaeger trying to control but Nelson postures up.

Nelson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Jaeger is refusing to be controlled, as Nelson sits in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Travis Jaeger is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jaeger shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Nelson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jaeger is aware though and is defending well. Nelson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jaeger postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Jaeger looking to pass the guard. Jaeger is working hard here to advance position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nelson tries to land a sweep but no joy. Jaeger is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Nelson pulls Jaeger in to control the position. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Jaeger scores with a leg kick.
Jaeger tries to clinch up. Jaeger closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Nelson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Jaeger dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Nelson is trying to push Jaeger away but Jaeger has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jaeger lands an elbow that stopped Nelson in his tracks for a moment. Jaeger stalling in the clinch.

Nelson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Jaeger sees it coming and avoids it easily. A head kick misses from Jaeger. Jaeger attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Jaeger throws a series of punches but Nelson moves out of range. Jaeger misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Nelson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Nelson wants it to stay on the feet. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jaeger tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jaeger throws a low kick but it's checked well by Nelson. Jaeger feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Nelson's calf. Nelson throws a body punch but Jaeger moves out of range. Jaeger tries to close the distance and clinch but Nelson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Nelson swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Jaeger wants to get back to full guard but Nelson has passed into side control. Nelson scores with punches from side control.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jaeger manages to get back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nelson scores with a couple of good hammerfists. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nelson is nestled in close to Jaeger, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Nelson scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Jaeger throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Nelson is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Jaeger rather than just go for the knockout. Jaeger will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. A decent looking cross lands there for Jaeger. Nelson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Both fighters are breathing heavily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nelson is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Jaeger is looking for a sweep. Nelson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Nelson is thwarting Jaeger's attempts to control the position. Nelson prevents Jaeger from improving his position. Gunnar Nelson has got the better of the ground game so far. Nelson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jaeger keeps working.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Jaeger misses with a few strikes there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nelson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jaeger manages to avoid it. Travis Jaeger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jaeger gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Nelson gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Jaeger is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
