Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Len Nicodemo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Max Vermillion!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Franklyn Lucas and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vermillion misses with a low kick.
Nicodemo stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Vermillion throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Nicodemo keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Vermillion.
Vermillion takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Nicodemo cracks Vermillion with a right hand to the side of the head.
Nicodemo swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Vermillion.
Vermillion is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Vermillion shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Vermillion is still on wobbly legs! Can Nicodemo finish him?
Vermillion throws a leg kick but Nicodemo checks it.
Vermillion seems to have recovered his senses.
Vermillion is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Nicodemo lands a nice shot that snaps Vermillion's head back.
Vermillion moves out of range of the strikes.
Vermillion does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Nicodemo connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Nicodemo connects with a single shot there.
Nicodemo wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Vermillion looks gassed!
Nicodemo throws a right and a left that both miss.
Nicodemo throws a monster overhand right that drops Vermillion! Nicodemo follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Len Nicodemo!
