Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ken Masters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Kempo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Ken Masters has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Ken Masters seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ken Masters! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Kempo! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Kempo with that takedown attempt. Masters avoids the head kick by Kempo.
Masters shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Masters pushes down on Kempo's leg and manages to get into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Masters looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Masters seems to be looking for submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round. Masters shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Kempo is desperately trying to improve his position but Masters has a good base and remains in mount. Masters looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Masters is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Kempo has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Kempo! Kempo wants to stand but Masters is controlling his posture from full guard. Masters has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kempo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Masters is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kempo wants to control from the top but Masters keeps moving. Masters isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Kempo stacks Masters on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Kempo! Masters is looking to regain half guard here but Kempo keeps moving and retains side control. Kempo wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Masters, who protects the arm well. Kempo wants to control for a moment but Masters uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Masters passes the guard and advances to mount! Kempo is looking to get to half guard. Kempo has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kempo wants to escape the position.

Masters is trying to stick to Kempo's back but Kempo is turning into Masters. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Masters's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Kempo. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kempo fakes the leg kick and cracks Masters in the body. Kempo with a poor takedown and Masters counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Kempo! Masters jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Kempo manages to avoid the submission attempt. Masters looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Masters is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Masters frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Masters jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Kempo manages to avoid the submission attempt. Masters is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kempo knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Masters is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kempo has escaped the position, nice work there.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Masters has control of Kempo's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kempo regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Kempo tries to hold on but Masters pushes him away. Ken Masters overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Masters working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Masters is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Kempo can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
