Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Robert Sosnowski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jared Walken! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sosnowski throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Walken. Walken should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Sosnowski throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Walken looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Sosnowski is looking to escape. Walken controlling the pace. Walken lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Walken is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Sosnowski is looking to escape. Walken works his foot free and advances to mount. Sosnowski really wants to buck Walken off and get back to his feet. Walken tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Sosnowski wants to try and get back to his feet. Walken sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Walken won't let Sosnowski get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walken breaks from Sosnowski's wrist control and lands an elbow. Walken cracks Sosnowski with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Sosnowski taking shots to the head. Walken has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Sosnowski's face.
Walken tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Walken lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Walken lands with some strikes. Walken looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Walken postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Sosnowski looks a forlorn figure.
Sosnowski is rocked! A big strike lands for Walken! That's really hurt Sosnowski and he's turned his back - Walken keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Walken jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jared Walken!
