Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Drew Carpenter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ari Gold (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carpenter comes to the cage accompanied by Blue Heaven. Gold has chosen All of the Lights as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Drew Carpenter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ari Gold! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Nard Betker and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carpenter motions for Gold to come forward. Carpenter throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Carpenter throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Carpenter tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gold swivels and escapes. Carpenter tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Gold is able to avoid easily. Carpenter avoids a punch combination nicely.
Gold forces Carpenter back against the cage and clinches. Carpenter is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Gold gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Carpenter breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Gold throws out a leg kick but Carpenter moves out of range and Gold only half commits. Gold just misses with a punch to the body.
Gold goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Gold listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Carpenter misses with a body kick. Carpenter throws a half hearted mid kick. Gold misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Carpenter throws a nice outside leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carpenter takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Carpenter fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Drew Carpenter. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gold cracks Carpenter with a right hand to the side of the head. Carpenter takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Carpenter throws a low kick but Gold avoids it. Carpenter is looking to chop away at Gold's legs. Carpenter looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Gold circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gold checks a leg kick. Carpenter misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Gold is looking to clinch. Carpenter finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Carpenter lands a nice leg kick that just misses Gold's sensitive parts.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gold takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Gold misses with the combination.
Carpenter misses with a low kick as Gold jumps back. That kick from Carpenter tenderised Gold's leg. Gold is trying to keep his angry face on. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gold swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. A telegraphed right hand from Gold misses the target. Carpenter shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gold manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gold trying to keep a closed guard but Carpenter is proving a slippery customer.
Carpenter loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carpenter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gold swivels though and keeps the full guard. Carpenter wants to control from the top but Gold keeps moving. Gold is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Carpenter is controlling him. Carpenter looking to pass the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carpenter won't allow Gold to sweep him here. Carpenter postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carpenter postures up in Gold's guard and throws a big left but Gold blocks it. Carpenter passes easily into side control. Nice work. Carpenter prevents Gold from escaping the position. Gold tries to get back to half guard but can't. Gold regains half guard, as Carpenter was trying to land strikes. Carpenter works his way into full mount! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Carpenter with the ground and pound from mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Drew Carpenter dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Carpenter takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
A nice leg kick lands there from Carpenter. Gold has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Carpenter checks a leg kick. Carpenter throws a leg kick which misses Gold's front leg but catches the back leg as Gold tries to avoid it. Gold is looking to clinch. Gold moves out of range of the body kick from Carpenter.
Carpenter lands a nice looking body kick. Gold swats away the attempt to clinch by Carpenter. Gold misses with a kick to the body.
Gold swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gold tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A chopping leg kick lands by Carpenter. Carpenter avoids the body shot from Gold.
Carpenter throws a low kick but it's checked well by Gold.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gold avoids a kick to the body.
Carpenter walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Gold checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Ari Gold is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Carpenter keeps Gold at a distance using the push kick. Drew Carpenter is winning the standup battle so far. Gold clinches. Gold looking to slow down the pace here. Gold is fighting off a takedown attempt but Carpenter is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Gold to the mat. Gold regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Carpenter passes easily into side control. Nice work. Gold is breathing heavily. Carpenter cracks Gold with a big right hand but Gold just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Gold is not content to let Carpenter control the position. Carpenter lands a nice forearm strike.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Carpenter cracks Gold with a big elbow. Carpenter is chipping away with strikes.
Gold stops Carpenter from passing to mount. Carpenter wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Gold, who protects the arm well. Gold takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Carpenter looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Gold is avoiding damage well.
Carpenter tries to advance to mount but Gold denies him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carpenter working the ground and pound from side control. Carpenter advances to mount. Carpenter trying to control but Gold is having none of it. Gold is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Carpenter cracks Gold with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Carpenter can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gold is looking to escape. Gold takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carpenter lands a big elbow. Drew Carpenter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gold in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gold wants to try and get back to his feet. Carpenter trying to control but Gold is having none of it. Carpenter scoring with strikes but Gold is staying in there.
Gold is rocked! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Carpenter with good strikes from the mount here! Gold is still in real trouble! Can Carpenter finish him? Carpenter has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Gold's face.
Carpenter looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Gold covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
