Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lupe Pintor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Young (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Lupe Pintor has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmy Young!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, John Kavanagh and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pintor connects with the punch.
Young misses with a wild body shot.
Young throws a body punch but Pintor moves out of range.
Pintor keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Young scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Young shoots in and gets a takedown into Pintor's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Young working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Young accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Young shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pintor pinned against the ropes. Pintor gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Young has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Pintor.
Young is breathing heavily.

Young ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pintor moves away.
Pintor will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Young ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Young feints and as Pintor raises his hands in defense, Young changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Pintor looking for subs off his back but Young has passed one foot through into half guard.
Young lands strikes from half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Young landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jimmy Young showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Pintor throws a half hearted mid kick.
Young throws a poor cross that misses
and Pintor counters with a straight right hand.
Young takes a swing at Pintor's ribcage but misses.
Young is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Pintor rather than just go for the knockout.
Pintor keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Pintor fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Young.

and Pintor makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Young swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Young closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Pintor to the mat! Pintor manages to get full guard.

Pintor wriggles free and stands up.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Young shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pintor as he jumps to the side.

Jimmy Young seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Young shoots in for a double leg but Pintor sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Pintor slaps away a takedown attempt from Young, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Lupe Pintor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Young.

and Pintor counters with a nice low kick that buckles Young's knee momentarily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Young. Pintor does a little dance to reset his feet.
A solid leg kick lands there for Pintor.
Pintor will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Pintor is trying hard to land a takedown here. Young sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Young drives through with a takedown into Pintor's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Pintor is trying to keep Young in close.
Young lands a couple of elbows.
Young working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Pintor's head.

Pintor has momentary wrist control but Young slips an elbow through the middle.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Young's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Jimmy Young is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Pintor being controlled here, momentarily.

Pintor working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Young doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Young manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Young stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pintor swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Jimmy Young comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Young winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
