Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Erivelton Imperador!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Al Capone!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Capone tries for a takedown but Imperador sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Capone swinging wildly here.
Imperador leaves Capone with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
No luck for Imperador with that takedown attempt.
Imperador throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Capone's waist but Capone gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Imperador off to one side.
Capone with a poor takedown
and Imperador counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Erivelton Imperador has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Al Capone.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Imperador drops back looking for a leg! Capone is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Capone manages to kick Imperador off! Imperador jumps back into Capone's guard.
Capone throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Imperador is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Imperador got a little sloppy there for a moment and Capone has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Imperador has managed to get both his arms back between Capone's legs - danger averted.
Imperador drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Imperador jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Imperador postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Capone is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Imperador, into his guard.
Imperador wants to stand but Capone is controlling the position.
Capone stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Imperador swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Imperador is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Imperador drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Capone has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Imperador is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Imperador turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Imperador manages to end up in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Imperador wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Capone, who protects the arm well.
Capone tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Imperador wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Capone manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Capone looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Capone has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Imperador. Oh but Capone has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Imperador goes limp - he's gone! Capone jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
