The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edgar throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Guillard fails to land with a series of punches.
Edgar dodges the punch combination from Guillard.
Edgar showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Guillard.
Guillard throws a right hand that Edgar ducks under and follows up with a left that Edgar also avoids with ease.
Guillard swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Guillard throws a series of punches but Edgar moves out of range.
Edgar throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

A jab-cross combination lands for Edgar and sends Guillard crashing to the mat! Edgar follows him down to the mat - Guillard regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

Guillard is rocked!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Guillard is trying to stand back up but Edgar is controlling him
Oh Guillard is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Edgar is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Guillard seems to have got his legs back now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Edgar wants to pass the guard but Guillard is defending well.
Guillard knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Edgar on the ground.

Edgar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Guillard keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Edgar throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Edgar wants to take a breather but Guillard is having none of it.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Frank James Edgar hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Guillard misses the jab.

Edgar lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Guillard sprawling to the canvas. Edgar follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Guillard hang on?
Guillard is trying to stand up here but Edgar is controlling him well.
Guillard is refusing to be controlled, as Edgar sits in half guard.

Guillard is trying to escape back to his feet but Edgar uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Edgar is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Guillard is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Guillard is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Edgar is controlling him well.

Edgar tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Edgar has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Guillard prevents Edgar from moving into mount.

Edgar has hold of Guillard's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Guillard tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Edgar cranks the arm and Guillard screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Guillard, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
