Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mark Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Austin Houston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Lewis might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Justin Moore - I Could Kick Your Ass. Houston is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Born of a Broken Man. This should be fireworks!

18 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Austin Houston! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lewis scores with a leg kick.
Houston moves out of range as Lewis throws a body kick.
Lewis feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Houston's calf. Lewis walks into a straight right hand from Houston. Lewis throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Lewis throws a looping overhand right but Houston ducks down to avoid it. Lewis misses with a hook. Houston ducked under it nicely. Nice body kick from Lewis. A jab from Houston does it's job there. Houston tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Lewis takes a swing at Houston's ribcage but misses. Lewis throws a leg kick but Houston sees it coming and checks it nicely. Houston takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Lewis fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Houston checks it well. A punch lands to the side of Houston 's head but he takes it in his stride. This has been an exciting period of action! Lewis throws a low kick, looking for Houston's leg but Houston calmly moves out of range. Houston shoots in and drives through. Lewis sprawls well. Houston ducks right into an uppercut from Lewis. Houston misses with a body shot.

Houston tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lewis was well out of range. Poor timing from Houston. Lewis moves out of range of the strikes. Lewis thuds his right hand into Houston's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Houston dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Lewis. That did some damage!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Houston has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Lewis. A head kick misses from Lewis. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Houston waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Lewis. Houston chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Lewis can pounce on him.
Lewis throws a sloppy head kick and Houston moves out of range easily. Lewis slips under a jab. Lewis finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Lewis takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Lewis throws a shot from downtown. Houston moves away and avoids it. Lewis looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Houston checks a low kick from Lewis. Houston thows a left - swing and a miss! Lewis pivots, looking for a leg kick but Houston is out of range and Lewis settles back down. Houston comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Lewis scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Houston ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Lewis throws the left hand but Houston avoids the punch easily. Houston throws a head kick but Lewis moves out of range.

Houston walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Lewis connects with a leg kick. Houston looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Houston throws a low kick but it's checked well by Lewis. Houston tries to work over Lewis's front leg with a kick but Lewis checks it. Lewis throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Houston takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Lewis fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Houston on the side of the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Lewis, as that shot connected.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Houston throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lewis lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Houston scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Houston's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Lewis throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Houston displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lewis throws out the jab. Lewis throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Lewis throws a low kick, looking for Houston's leg but Houston calmly moves out of range. Houston throws out a loose jab but Lewis uses good head movement to avoid it. Lewis lands a nice leg kick that just misses Houston's sensitive parts. Houston closes the distance and clinches. Houston misses with a shot to the kidneys.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Lewis missing with knees to the body.

It looks like Mark Lewis has been cut. Lewis pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Lewis breaks from the clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Houston closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lewis quickly recovers to half guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Houston is looking to take a break and control but Lewis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Lewis tries to get to full guard but Houston has control of the leg. Lewis is refusing to be controlled, as Houston sits in half guard. Lewis avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Houston. Houston wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Lewis uses the opportunity to regain full guard. Houston must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Lewis takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Houston takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Lewis lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Houston loads up on a big right hand but Lewis slips the punch. Lewis tries to work over Houston's front leg with a kick but Houston checks it. Lewis misses with a looping right. Lewis bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Houston's head. Lewis does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Houston shoots for a takedown but Lewis saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Houston takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Houston tries to land a sweep but no joy. Lewis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Houston swivels though and keeps the full guard. Lewis passes into half guard.
