The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coutturee fails with an attempt to clinch.
Coutturee looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Coutturee circles away from the clinch attempt
and Coutturee counters with a big head kick but Powers shrugs it off.
Coutturee misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Coutturee looks for a takedown but Powers sprawls well.
Coutturee checks a low kick from Powers.
Powers closes the distance and clinches up with Coutturee, looking for a takedown. Powers pushes Coutturee against the cage but Coutturee circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

A nice leg kick lands there from Powers.

Coutturee chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Powers can pounce on him.

Coutturee drives through and clinches with Powers against the cage.

Powers has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Coutturee uses from the top position.

Powers has his foot on Coutturee's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Coutturee works his way back into a safe position though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Coutturee seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Powers tries to get to full guard but Coutturee has control of the leg.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Powers wants to control but Coutturee is having none of it.

Coutturee avoids the attempt from Powers to control.
Coutturee misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Coutturee takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Powers is trying desperately to improve position.
Coutturee looking to ground and pound but Powers is blocking nicely.
Powers is trying to escape the mount.
Powers wants to hold on but Coutturee pushes him away.
Coutturee misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Rocky Coutturee will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Powers closes the distance and clinches.

Powers manages to break the clinch.
Powers clinches but Coutturee breaks the clinch
and Coutturee counters with a series of strikes. Powers will be more careful next time no doubt.
Powers swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Matt Powers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Powers thows a body kick. Coutturee tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Powers connects with a single shot there.

It looks like Rocky Coutturee has been cut.
Good leg kick by Powers there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Powers misses with a hook. Coutturee ducked under it nicely.
Powers tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Coutturee paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Powers fails with an attempt to clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Powers looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Powers throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Coutturee is rocked!
Powers drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Coutturee right on the button. Coutturee goes down! Powers follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Powers gets the win via TKO!
