The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kooch keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Thompson throws a series of punches but Kooch moves out of range.

and Kooch decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Thompson's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Kooch here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Thompson manages to work his way to half guard, despite Kooch's best efforts.
Kooch is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Thompson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kooch.

Thompson shoots in for a double leg but Kooch sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Thompson is pressed up against the cage. Kooch has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Thompson down to the mat. Thompson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

I would just about give that final round to Henry Thompson.
