Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Wilson Waters! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Dean Stevens! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, William Gold and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stevens's jab looks to have found its range, popping Waters under the eye. Waters walks forward, straight into a front kick from Stevens. Stevens throws a low kick but Waters moves out of range easily. Waters misses with a looping right. Waters just misses with a punch to the body.
Waters looks to land a right hand but Stevens moved out of range. Stevens closes the distance and pushes Waters back into the cage. Waters has Stevens pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Stevens manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Stevens stalling the fight.
Waters drops down looking for an ankle pick but Stevens pulls his leg out and moves away.
Waters closes the distance and clinches up with Stevens, looking for a takedown. Waters pushes Stevens against the cage but Stevens circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Waters looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Stevens creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Waters sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Stevens postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Stevens thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Stevens trying to pass the guard but Waters defending well. Waters is looking for a sweep. Stevens is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Stevens tries to pass the half guard into mount. Waters knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Stevens not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Stevens keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Waters's head. Stevens throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Waters works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Stevens preventing the sweep. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Stevens postures up and lands a big shot to Waters's brow. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Stevens loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Stevens shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Stevens was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Stevens wants to control the pace but Waters is squirming around nicely. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stevens is breathing heavily. Stevens prevents Waters from getting the reversal. Stevens throwing strikes here but Waters is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Waters slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Stevens looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Waters with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Waters controlling the position for now. Stevens winds up and cracks Waters with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Waters works his way to full guard. Good work. Waters utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Stevens pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Waters is keeping the position for now. Stevens connects with a couple of short punches. Waters trying to keep a closed guard but Stevens is proving a slippery customer.

Stevens's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Waters connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Stevens scrambles back to his feet. Stevens lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Waters will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
