Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hans Gruber! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Juno Navras! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gruber throws a body kick that misses. Navras is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Gruber lands with a shot to the body. Navras stuffs the takedown. Gruber throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Navras's waist but Navras gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gruber off to one side. Gruber shoots in but no luck this time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hans Gruber. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gruber tries to clinch there but Navras circles away.
Gruber fails to land the takedown. Gruber wants to clinch. Gruber shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Navras as he jumps to the side. Gruber wants to clinch up but Navras keeps it at a distance. Gruber closes the distance and clinches. Gruber is looking to break free of the clinch but Navras has double underhooks. Navras escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Navras moves into the clinch successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Navras pulls guard. Navras wants to sweep but no luck. Gruber slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Gruber could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Navras wants to sweep but no luck. Gruber might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Navras pushes Gruber off and scrambles back to his feet.
Navras closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Navras escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gruber shoots in looking for a takedown. Navras tries to sprawl out of it but Gruber keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Navras manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Navras doesn't succeed with the takedown and Gruber counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Gruber. Navras tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Gruber smiles and moves away.
Gruber looks to land a combination but Navras avoids it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gruber has closed the distance and engaged Navras in a clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks. Navras successfully pulls guard.
Navras pulls Gruber in close to his closed guard and prevents Gruber from doing any damage or advancing position. Gruber is breathing heavily. Gruber wants to stand but Navras has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Navras wants to sweep here but Gruber controlling him for the moment. Navras trying to strike off his back.
Navras wants to hit a switch here but Gruber passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Navras there! Navras tries to hold on but Gruber postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gruber trying to control but he's not successful this time. Gruber punching from mount but Navras doing a good job of avoiding damage. Navras is desperately trying to improve his position but Gruber has a good base and remains in mount. Gruber takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Gruber trying to control but Navras is having none of it. Navras wants to control but Gruber is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Navras is trying desperately to improve position. Navras is just holding on here. Gruber manages to take his back.

Navras manages to reverse the position and now he's in Gruber's guard. Nice work there by Navras.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Juno Navras will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Gruber with a lazy takedown attempt and Navras counters with a low kick, right behind Gruber 's knee. Navras throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gruber's waist but Gruber gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Navras off to one side. Gruber tries to clinch but fails miserably and Navras counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Navras. Navras keeps control of Gruber as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Navras jumps guard but Gruber stands there with Navras around his waist. Navras gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Navras is pressed up against the cage. Gruber has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Navras down to the mat. Navras avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Gruber shoots in and bounces Navras off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Gruber gets to his feet - Navras follows without any prompting. Gruber has his takedown stuffed and Navras counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hans Gruber. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gruber has a takedown stuffed.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gruber fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Navras is looking to clinch. Navras tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gruber swats him away and circles back towards the center. Navras misses with a takedown and Gruber counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Navras striking from the bottom. Gruber thows a huge punch but Navras dodges it nicely.
Gruber decides to stand and escape the position. Gruber throws a low kick but it's checked well by Navras. Navras fails with the takedown and Navras takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Hans Gruber is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Navras moves into the clinch successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Navras breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Nice takedown defense from Navras. No joy for Gruber on that attempt. Gruber fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Navras sprawls well initially but Gruber persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Navras wants to stand back up but Gruber manages to pass into side control.
Gruber throws a strike aimed at the side of Navras's head but Navras avoids it well. Gruber tries to get to his feet but Navras is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Gruber in his guard. Gruber trying to control the position from guard on top but Navras is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gruber stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Navras swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gruber preventing the sweep.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Nice takedown defense from Navras. No joy for Gruber on that attempt. A big right from Gruber misses. Gruber wants to clinch but Navras slips to the side and Navras counters with a good low kick that Gruber was not able to check. Navras fails with the takedown and Gruber counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Gruber tries to clinch but fails miserably and Navras counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Navras. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Navras. Navras breaks from the clinch.

Navras shoots in for a double leg but Gruber sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gruber scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Navras is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Gruber wants to control but Navras is keeping him busy. Navras is trying to maintain the position but Gruber is very close to passing his half guard. Gruber decides to stand up. Gruber misses with a takedown attempt and Navras counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends Gruber down! Navras is looking to finish but Gruber is intelligently defending himself. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Navras is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Let's hope that Navras has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Hans Gruber will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

and Navras moves into the clinch. Gruber wants to get back to striking at distance but Navras won't allow it.

Gruber fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Navras scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Gruber takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Navras is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gruber knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. You can see the frustration on Gruber's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Navras controls the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gruber is trying to buck Navras off. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Navras trying to control the action but Gruber is working from the bottom. Navras goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Gruber rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Navras's guard! Nice work there by Gruber! Gruber wants to pass the guard but Navras is keeping the position. Navras bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gruber's guard. Gruber is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Gruber is looking for a kimura but Navras is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gruber to get the leverage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Navras is doing well to control the position and prevent Gruber from advancing to side control. Navras trying to control but Gruber postures up.
Gruber slips a nice elbow through Navras's hands, connecting with Navras's forehead. Navras throws a strike from the bottom but Gruber passes into side control!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Navras dodges the ground and pound from Gruber. Navras is trying to improve his position. Gruber misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Gruber with a poor takedown and Navras counters with a body kick. Navras gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Gruber counters with a nice double leg into guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Navras holds on and takes a little breather. Navras looking to control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Gruber looking to sit in guard and control but Navras gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Navras looking to pass the guard. Navras is looking to stand up but Gruber won't let him. Gruber is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gruber is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Navras won't allow Gruber to sweep him here.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Gruber fails with the takedown and Navras moves into the clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Juno Navras. I think Navras has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
