PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sairanix Lokren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harry Fortez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fortez comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Onward To Victory kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Sairanix Lokren looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fortez closes the distance and pushes Lokren back into the cage.
Fortez managing to block the knees to the body from Lokren.
Fortez is trying to force a seperation but Lokren has the dominant position.

Lokren pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Fortez looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Fortez decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lokren, up you get!
Lokren connects with a solid leg kick.

Fortez drives through and clinches with Lokren against the cage.
Lokren is trying to stall.

Fortez wants the takedown. Lokren is fighting it off but Fortez persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Lokren's guard against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lokren looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Fortez stops Lokren from standing up.
Lokren is breathing heavily.

Fortez stands up and waves to Lokren to follow him.

Fortez has Lokren up against the cage in a clinch.
Fortez digs a right hand underneath Lokren's ribcage. Lokren let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Fortez manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Fortez looking for a sweep. Not yet Fortez, not yet.
Lokren trying to control the position from guard on top but Fortez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fortez wants to stand and escape but Lokren is having none of it.
Lokren trying to control but Fortez is working from the bottom.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Sairanix Lokren just wasn't active enough.
Fortez cracks a nice hook into Lokren's ribs.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Lokren gets underhooks to prevent Fortez's takedown attempt.
Fortez avoiding damage as Lokren throws knees to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Fortez tightens his grip and picks Lokren up, before dumping him to the ground. Lokren manages to land in guard.
Lokren is looking to stand up but Fortez isn't so interested in that idea.

Fortez gets to his feet. Lokren looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Lokren gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Fortez to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Lokren keeping full guard, as Fortez tries to pass.
Fortez sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lokren's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Lokren pushes Fortez off and gets back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lokren wants to clinch up but Fortez keeps it at a distance.

Fortez forces Lokren back against the cage and clinches.
Lokren is looking to control Fortez's arms but Fortez gets an underhook and turns him. Now Lokren has his back to the cage.

Fortez pulls Lokren into guard.
Lokren would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Fortez is looking for a triangle but Lokren pushes his legs off easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lokren wants to control from the top but Fortez keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Harry Fortez dominated that round.

Fortez has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Lokren doesn't defend quickly enough and Fortez has managed to lock this one up! Can Lokren escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Fortez on a fantastic submission victory.
