Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Grant Gaines (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Grant Gaines! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Steve Austin! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Konstantin Menshow and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some wild striking there from Austin.
Austin clobbers Gaines with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Gaines clinches up against the cage. Gaines drags the fight down to the ground.
Austin controlling from the top position. Gaines is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Austin is looking to stand up but Gaines won't let him. Gaines controls Austin momentarily but Austin frees himself. Gaines is pulling down on Austin's head. It's preventing any offense from Austin, at least for the moment.

A left and a right from Austin both land. Nice combination. Austin thows a body shot but no joy. Gaines misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Gaines fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Gaines shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Austin but Austin pushes him off and we're back to square one. Gaines feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Austin's calf. Gaines shoots in and drives through. Austin sprawls well. Gaines tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Austin swivels and escapes. Austin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gaines. Austin tries to keep at a distance but Gaines has taken the fight into the clinch. Austin throws a head punch that misses.

Austin finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Austin scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Steve Austin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! A combination from Austin does no damage. Gaines rushes Austin and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Gaines tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Austin scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Gaines shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Austin as he avoids it easily. Austin is working the combinations to good effect here. Austin lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Austin is staying active underneath Gaines, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Gaines tries to pass the half guard into mount. Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Gaines has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Gaines there as he acknowledges the shot. Austin throws a wild body kick that Gaines sees coming a mile off. Austin scores with a three punch combo!

Steve Austin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Gaines wants to control from the top but Austin keeps moving. Austin kicks Gaines off and gets to his feet. Gaines clinches up against the cage. Austin wants to get back to striking at distance but Gaines won't allow it.

Austin would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Austin is posturing up here but Gaines has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Austin tries to roll out but it's too tight and Austin has to tap! Slick submission there by Gaines!
