Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ichnig Reedin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Deshaun Williams! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reedin wants to clinch. Williams closes the distance but Reedin moves to the side and Reedin counters with a nice body kick. Williams takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Williams tries to clinch up. Williams lands a head kick!
The fight stays on the outside here - Reedin looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Nice uppercut there from Reedin. Reedin clinches but Williams breaks the clinch and Williams counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Williams postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Reedin to stand up. Williams avoids the head kick by Reedin.
Williams throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Reedin doesn't manage to clinch there - Williams circles away.
Reedin is looking to clinch but Williams is avoiding it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reedin throws a hook to the side of Williams's head but Williams sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Williams ducks under a wild hook from Reedin. Williams circles away from the clinch attempt.
Reedin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Williams paws at him with a jab and circles away. Williams fails in his attempt to clinch. Reedin throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Williams makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Reedin wants to clinch up but Williams keeps it at a distance. Williams falls off balance throwing a combination
and Reedin counters with a lovely straight right hand! Reedin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Williams is refusing to be controlled, as Reedin sits in half guard. Williams wants to get back to his feet.
Williams is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reedin wants to control but Williams is keeping him busy. Williams tries to kick Reedin off but Reedin keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Reedin tries to pass to full mount but Williams defends it. Reedin has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Williams defend it? Reedin steps over the head and cranks it - Williams is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Reedin!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Ichnig Reedin!
