PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Urijah Faber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Parking Ticket (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Parking Ticket!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ticket misses with a low kick.
Ticket misses with a few strikes there.

Ticket gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Faber to score an easy takedown into full guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Faber throwing strikes but missing.
Faber looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Faber throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ticket works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Faber throws and elbow that misses. Ticket uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Faber's guard. Nice move by Ticket!

Faber kicks Ticket off and gets to his feet.
Faber shoots in looking for a takedown but Ticket manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Faber's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Ticket tries to score with a low kick but Faber moves his leg out of the way.
Ticket stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ticket wants it to stay on the feet.

Ticket throws a hook to the side of Faber's head but Faber sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Faber displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ticket throws out the jab.

Faber shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ticket pinned against the cage. Ticket gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Urijah Faber. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ticket uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Faber has time to react.
Ticket looks for the body kick but Faber saw that one coming.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Faber is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Faber has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Faber is in close to Ticket's body, working some short punches and elbows.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Faber seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Faber lands a nice short elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ticket is breathing heavily.
Faber winds up and cracks Ticket with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Faber working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Faber is nestled in close to Ticket, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Ticket is still in real trouble! Can Faber finish him?
Ticket really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Faber. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Faber is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ticket has managed to free his arm - good work.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Faber connects with a nice short shot to Ticket's temple.

Faber takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Faber lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Ticket quite badly. Ticket pulls Faber in close trying to recover. Faber postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Ticket on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Ticket doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Urijah Faber!
