The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vatuvei misses with a takedown
and Miller counters with a straight right hand.
Matt Miller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Miller misses with a head kick.
Vatuvei takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Miller fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Vatuvei.
Miller feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Vatuvei's calf.

Miller rushes Vatuvei and presses him up against the cage.
Miller digs a right hand underneath Vatuvei's ribcage. Vatuvei let out a lung full of air as it connected.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Miller scores with a hook to the body.
Miller lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Miller lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Miller lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Vatuvei takes a shot to the head.

Miller makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Miller is leaning against Vatuvei and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Miller lands with a right to the head.
Miller lands a body punch.

Miller pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Miller lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Both fighters circling a little - Miller finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Miller moves into the clinch.

Miller escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Miller lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Vatuvei takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Miller keeps Vatuvei at a distance using the push kick.
Miller connects with a solid leg kick.
Miller lands a head kick. Vatuvei smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Vatuvei is rocked!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Miller throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Vatuvei takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Vatuvei's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Miller connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Vatuvei scrambles back to his feet.
Vatuvei is still on wobbly legs! Can Miller finish him?

Miller scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Vatuvei blocking the ground and pound attempt from Miller.
Vatuvei seems to have recovered his senses.
Miller thows a huge punch but Vatuvei dodges it nicely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Miller is trying to control. Vatuvei wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Miller lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Vatuvei hang on?

Miller scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Miller landing punches.
Miller loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Vatuvei scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Miller land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Miller stands and salutes the crowd.
