Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Robert Power (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Enrique Sandoval (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sandoval has chosen Enrique's Entrance as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Enrique Sandoval!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Konstantin Menshow and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sandoval scores with a sloppy right hand. Power should have avoided that one.
Power throws a series of punches but Sandoval avoids them all with ease.
Sandoval stuffs the takedown.
Sandoval swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Sandoval keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sandoval paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Power swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Sandoval counters with an inside leg kick.
Some wild striking there from Power.
Power dodges the punch combination from Sandoval.
Power throws an overhand right that lands on Sandoval's shoulder, as Sandoval tries to avoid the shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Power throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Power misses with a double jab

and Sandoval counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Power utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sandoval passes into half guard.

Sandoval looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Sandoval should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Sandoval wants to pass the guard but Power is defending well.
Power is trying to stand back up but Sandoval is controlling him

Sandoval is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Sandoval seems to be working for a kimura but Power defends the submission attempt.

Sandoval is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Sandoval is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Sandoval looks gassed!
Power tries to kick Sandoval off but Sandoval keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Power moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Power pulls Sandoval in close to prevent any damage.

Sandoval drops back, looking for a kneebar! Power looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Power looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Power!

Power decides to take the fight back to the feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Power misses with a series of wild punches.
Some wild striking there from Power.
A combination from Power does no damage.
Power swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Sandoval moves out of range of the strikes.
Power throws a jab but it's blocked by Sandoval.
Power throws a jab but it's blocked by Sandoval.
Robert Power seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Power fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sandoval throws a left and a right that both miss
and Power counters with a three punch combo that has Sandoval backing up. Sandoval nods at Power to acknowledge the strikes.


Sandoval is rocked!
Power tries to clinch but Sandoval moves away
and Sandoval counters with a left and a right that stings Power.
Sandoval is still on wobbly legs! Can Power finish him?
A combination from Power does no damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A big left from Power misses.
Power throws a head kick but Sandoval moves out of range.
Power throws a hook but Sandoval blocks it.
Power will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Power misses with the combination.
Power misses with a hook.
Sandoval seems to have recovered his senses.
Power throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Some wild striking there from Sandoval.
Power throws the left hand but Sandoval avoids the punch easily.
Power swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Sandoval dodges the punch combination from Power.
Power with a poor takedown

and Sandoval counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sandoval.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Enrique Sandoval dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Sandoval throws a right and a left that both miss.
Power misses with a double jab.
Power throws a combination that misses

and Sandoval counters with a takedown into side control.

Sandoval tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Sandoval has an Americana. Power didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Sandoval is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Sandoval hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Enrique Sandoval!
