Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexandr Nevsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Padrone Shinobi!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Sergei Dronov and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shinobi tries for a takedown but Nevsky sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Shinobi fails with the takedown
and Nevsky holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Shinobi drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Alexandr Nevsky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Padrone Shinobi.
Shinobi drops down looking for an ankle pick but Nevsky pulls his leg out and moves away.
Shinobi shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
That's one minute gone in the round.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Shinobi is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Nevsky to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Nevsky shrugs it off.
Nevsky working to try and regain half guard.
Shinobi working for a guillotine from mount but Nevsky is in no mood to give up.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nevsky tries to lock up and control but Shinobi gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Nevsky is trying desperately to improve position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nevsky tries to hold on but Shinobi pushes him away.
Shinobi looking to secure an arm triangle but Nevsky defends it well.
Shinobi is working for a guillotine from mount but Nevsky frees his head quite easily.
Nevsky slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Shinobi looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Nevsky might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nevsky is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Shinobi is tapping! Great win for Nevsky!
