The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Couture closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Couture works to advance to full mount. Smith defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Couture avoids the attempt from Smith to control.

BOOM! Couture connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Couture throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Smith has his hands clasped together but Couture breaks the hold and Smith is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Couture!
