Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Danny Ochoa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lion Takanori! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Takanori blocks a leg kick. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Takanori checks a leg kick. Takanori uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Ochoa has time to react. Takanori takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Takanori misses with a shot to the body and Ochoa makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Takanori moves into the clinch. Ochoa comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
It looks like Lion Takanori has been cut. Ochoa throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Ochoa creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Takanori's defenses. Ochoa prevents Takanori from breaking the clinch. Ochoa tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Takanori tries to break free but Ochoa pushes him back against the cage. Ochoa throws an elbow that misses.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Takanori has had enough of the clinch but Ochoa keeps him there for the moment. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ochoa lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Takanori throws a combination. Ochoa tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Ochoa dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Takanori. That did some damage! Ochoa throws a hook to the side of Takanori's head but Takanori sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. A solid body kick from Ochoa. Takanori takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Ochoa throws a leg kick that is checked and Takanori counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Takanori blocks the body kick.
Takanori chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Ochoa can pounce on him.
Takanori bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. The fight moves into the clinch position. Takanori takes a knee right on the jaw!

Takanori is looking to break free of the clinch but Ochoa has double underhooks. A frustrated look appears on Takanori's face as he tries to break the clinch. Takanori wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Ochoa lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Takanori takes a shot to the head. Ochoa connects with a nasty looking knee right to Takanori's face.
That has opened up Lion Takanori's cut even more. Nice elbow from Ochoa. Ochoa with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Danny Ochoa dominated that round. The cut man is working on Lion Takanori's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Takanori steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ochoa. Takanori stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Ochoa. Sloppy strikes from Takanori. Those never looked like landing. Takanori throws a body punch but Ochoa moves out of range. Takanori scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Ochoa doesn't seem bothered though. Ochoa getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Takanori fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ochoa manages to avoid it. Ochoa has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Ochoa misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Takanori throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ochoa stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Takanori moves out of range of the strikes. Ochoa closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Takanori on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Takanori thuds his right hand into Ochoa's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Ochoa slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Takanori tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ochoa was well out of range. Poor timing from Takanori. Ochoa is looking to slow Takanori down with leg kicks. Ochoa connects with a crisp jab. Ochoa digs a good hook to Takanori's body.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Ochoa loads up on a big right hand but Takanori slips the punch. Ochoa ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Takanori moves away. Ochoa fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Takanori. Ochoa finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Ochoa cracks the inside of Takanori's front leg. Ochoa has closed the distance and engaged Takanori in a clinch.

Ochoa lands with a kick to the temple. Takanori shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. An inside leg kick from Ochoa misses. Ochoa digs a good hook to Takanori's body.
Danny Ochoa is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Takanori is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
And that's the end of the fight! Danny Ochoa showed his dominance in that final round. Well Ochoa has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
